“Bernie Sanders is totally unelectable! We need to rally around someone who can beat Trump, like Mike Bloomberg,” 62-year-old Karen Dollinger told her friend Jill over brunch. “I like that Buttigieg,” replied Jill as she ordered her third mimosa. “I follow his husband on Twitter. He’s so cute.”
“Oh, did you see how well Klobuchar did in New Hampshire last night? She might have a real chance and is a whole lot more appealing than
Bernie to be honest,” said Karen of last night’s contest. “I mean even though Bernie technically ‘won,’ he did it with a lot smaller margin than he did in 2016 when he beat Hillary who was much more electable than Bernie too,” said Jill.
“We can’t have four more years of Trump,” said Karen. “That man is
disgusting.” “He is!” replied Jill.
“Although my Charles Schwab is looking pretty good these days, so maybe he knows what he is doing?” said Karen.
“Karen! Don’t say that. Trump is a sexist and a misogynist!…We did
appreciate the tax cut though,” said Jill. “I loved Barack, but none of these candidates are as electable as he was,” she said of the Hawaiian born black man named Barack Hussein Obama. “This election is just too important. We need to play it safe and elect someone who can actually win like we thought Clinton would before she lost.”
“Plus, how is Bernie Sanders going to win Florida? He is a socialist who praised Fidel Castro. There is no way he is going to win that state. We need to elect someone electable, like Clinton,” said Karen. Clinton lost Florida in 2016.
“I’ll tell you what,” said Jill. “If Bernie is the candidate, I’ll vote for Trump.”
“Jill! How could you…” said Karen before leaning in. “I would too.”
